Biography and Product History...
 As
the Founder and CEO of Elegant Custom Structures, Steven Durhams title
serves a dual role, as Chief Conceptual Designer and Product Promoter, where
he heads up the company's various product applications and overall design
functions. Mr. Durham's unique ability, insight and passion for cutting edge
design, has dared him many of times to push the design envelope, in order to
design some really eye catching, outdoor advertising display systems, that
come with an unconventional, yet fresh design twist, that has caught the eye
of MGM-Mirage's architectural and design/engineering team.
Dating as far back as Stevens childhood, he can remember when his
grandmother gave him his first drafting kit at the age of 12, noticing his
creative drawing capabilities, as well as his artistic interests. As it
turns out, that drafting kit is what did it. Steven can remember drawing
some really cool concept cars, around the age of 12, which resembled some
very cool, futuristic, streamlined, modern day Ferrari's or Lamborghini
car body designs that were really curvilinear, that pretty much hugged or
wrapped around some really low profile Pirellis tires.
What Steven had realized, early-on with both his futuristic concept car
designs and his complimentary present day Carport-Display designs, was that
these super cool looking, futuristic cars that he use to draw were lacking a
complimentary outdoor semi-enclosed shelter, that could actually wrap
around the concept cars really unique futuristic car body's. That's where
current day ECS product design and dreams come alive.
Over the years, as well as recently, some interesting uphill battles are
being fought to protect Mr. Durhams product, it's multi-uses and it's unique
placement through patent rights while simultaneously developing and
improving his unique Carport-Displays (called i-PorTz). What's really unique
about the (i-PorTz) Displays as Steven quotes, "is that the product can
actually produce it's own solar energy (using solar paneled roofs) while
showcasing huge digital interactive advertisements, that cell phones and
PDA's can actually interact with via a Wi-Fi or Bluetooth connection,
stemming from i-PorTz uniquely integrated roofing platform and wireless
system.
Stevens guestimation to actually start marketing his company's product
dates back to April of 2000, where he actually designed and built a
full scale prototypical i-PorTz model in secret while his patent
applications were being filed, As it turns out, 9/11 happened shortly
thereafter putting Mr. Durhams product introduction on hold for awhile.
As early as 2001 with detailed Business Plan in hand, Mr. Durham tried
to raise money from private shareholders (called Angel Investors) who pretty
much laughed at him, stating that, "no-one in their right mind would be
interested in purchasing or using these Carport-Displays at this time",
obviously due to 9/11 and the downturn in the economy.
This put ECS's wide scale dream of installing their displays in parking
lots, across the US, on hold, just waiting for the recession to pass and
then re-introduce the product once again. As early as 2006 ECS Steven got
wish.. but instead of building and installing his outdoor display
structures, he is choosing to license the designs to various outdoor
European digital billboard agencies for use here in the US, who will use
our Carport-Displays in parking lots, to showcase in-store brands via the
carports interactive paneled digital displays
Once again, ECS is marketing itself as an outdoor Carport-Display system,
that's capable of generating electricity, re-charging electric cars, and
distributing electrical energy and sending this solar generated energy back
into the electrical grid, all while showcasing huge digital interactive
advertisements, showcased on the Carport-Display roofing system. Mr Durham
has managed to convince some very large advertising agencies abroad to
cross-license his product, in exchange access to the displays in certain
markets here in the USA, where foreign and domestic brands and
advertisements will compete for space on our outdoor displays through
competitive bidding competitions, showcasing non-brand, private label or
branded products on our Carpot-Displays roof panels..
ECS has come a long way and feels that any other future partners are
encouraged to contact his agency to either license his designs or reserve
exclusive territories. ECS has done extensive financial models on our
Carport-Display systems which can potentially generate and pay itself off in
a matter of months, according to ECS's unique traditional and
non-traditional business and financial models.
